Zimababwe Emergency Bank Guaranteed Cheques With inflation out-of-control and Bank Notes becoming worthless and difficult to find the people and commercial banks of Zimbabwe resorted to using guaranteed cheques as issued by commercial banks as a currency. These are a rare and very collectable item. Many were unused and cancelled when the currency finally collapsed and the country adopted the US Dollar, GB Pound and South African Rand as day-to-day currencies.
